The U.S. Air Force’s first Lockheed Martin-built GPS III satellite is now encapsulated for its planned Dec. 18 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. United Technologies Corp. acquires Rockwell Collins

United Technologies Corp. (UTC) has completed its acquisition of Rockwell Collins. The two companies will now combine to form Collins Aerospace Systems and be based in Palm Beach City, Florida. Team to collect Arctic surveillance data for NGA

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has awarded GeoNorth Information Systems (GNIS) a five-year, $15 million contract for persistent surveillance services of the Arctic region. U.S. Air Force chooses Collins Aerospace GPS anti-jam receiver

The U.S. Air Force has selected an anti-jam GPS receiver from Collins Aerospace (through the division formerly known as Rockwell Collins) for Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve F-16 fighter aircraft.
