The EGNOS SES-5 geostationary satellite launched July 9 has arrived at its orbital sot. Meanwhile, India’s GAGAN satellite GSAT-10 arrives at its spaceport for launch.
Now GNSS smartphone application developers can benefit from a range of new features from Version 2 the European Commission’s free EGNOS Software Development Kit (SDK), reports the European GNSS Agency (GSA). The SDK helps developers to easily implement EGNOS corrections coming from the signal in space or the Internet, and make use of EGNOS advantages when using location-enabled applications.
Roscosmos has done some juggling of launch dates for some upcoming satellite launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and the launch of SES-5 is now scheduled for Saturday, July 7. The launch of SES-5 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, originally scheduled for June 18, was delayed due to a problem with a first stage subsystem on the Proton launch vehicle.

UPDATE: The launch of SES-5 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, originally scheduled for 18 June, has been delayed due to a problem with a first stage subsystem on the Proton launch vehicle. The launch has been rescheduled for August 6.
The European GNSS Agency (GSA) Wednesday published a contract notice in the Official Journal of the European Union inviting operators to bid for the provision of EGNOS services over the 2014-2021 period. This contract will consist in operating, maintaining and upgrading the EGNOS system infrastructure, and ensuring the continuous and safe provision of the three services offered by EGNOS.
